Most of the slides are in 2” x 2” plastic mounts but a few are in card mounts.

BURNS   LAIRD   MEMORIES

      This line once operated regular services from the Brommielaw,  close to the heart of Glasgow, to a wide variety of destinations in Ireland.  The overnight sailings between the heart of Glasgow and the heart of Belfast offered gracious travel in comfortable cabins in the days before the car ferries from Troon or Stranraer, or the frequent flights that are now available.

Less gracious workhorses provided links to Dublin or Derry, among other destinations.

3490      ROYAL  SCOTSMAN  -  one of a pair of boats built for the prestigious Belfast service, seen at Broomielaw on

            27 September 1965.  The Belfast service ceased in 1967.
